Revolution: Goals: Eddie Chambers 2, Vinny Rowse  Assists: Bernardo, Hudson, Jessop

A brace each from Henry Turner and Mark Hulbert got Mes Amis back onto the Legal League bike on Friday evening having fallen off - kicked off more like by Monopoly - the previous Saturday.

Kick off then and Mes were in their customary "We know what we like" 4-4-2 with a forward line of Henry "Fantasy Football points me up" Turner & Mark "6pm deadline signing & genuine Wanderers before Mes Amis player" Hulbert. This left the luxury of starting Stewart McInnes in the centre of midfield alongside Phil Dowding. Revolution started off - rather cautiously - with what looked like a 5-4-1 formation, choosing to man mark Turner and leaving Vinny Rowse to forage alone up front. Maybe not a good idea when you had a Mes backline containing every "all-you-can-eat" buffet's nightmare of Lee Brown, Nick Smith, Mark Norman, Dave Yip and "the Kate Moss / svelte one of the bunch" Ashley Bell.

Mes had the better of the first half, and Turner and Hulbert both scuffed shots when presented with decent openings. Halfway through the 1st half Turner received the ball on the left and darted towards to the Revo penalty box. He was hauled down giving Mes a chance to get the lead. And it was Mes that snatched the lead with a well struck 20 yard free kick by Hulbert that went in after it hit the underside of the bar. 1 - 0 to Mes Amis.

The game was still quite even at this point but Mes did look the more dangerous of the two. In the 30th minute Revo gaffer Lou Man's plans was in tatters as Mes forged 2-0 ahead, Turner claiming his first goal of the game.

It was Mark Norman who received the ball in his own half which he then lofted 40 yards over the Revo defence allowing Turner a one-on-one with Richard Hudson. Turner calmly slotted the ball under the Revo keeper to make it 2 - 0 at the interval.

Early in the second half Revo played an early ball into the Mes penalty area which gave Eddie Chambers a shot on goal. 2 - 1. A cheap goal to give away - all hands on deck again for Mes Amis. A few minutes later Stew McInnes played a ball to Turner for another one-on-one with Hudson. As we have seen already this game and so many times this season, Turner calmly slotted the ball away to make it 3 - 1. Two minutes later Hudson punts the ball back into the Mes penalty area and after a dreadful loss of concentration in the Mes defence Chambers is there to tap in his 2nd of the evening. 3 - 2.

Revo will claim textbook counter attacks whilst Mes will be claiming defensive blunders for Revo's 2 goals. Dowding was proving to be the catalyst for the bulk of Mes's attacks, and Revo were struggling to cope with the physical threat of Hulbert up front. So when Mes received a free kick form 30 yards out it was no surprise that it was Dowding who pinged the ball into the area for Hulbert power the ball into the net. 4 - 2.

Mes looked to have made the game safe with five minutes of the half remaining, however, Dave Jessop released Vinny Rowse for Revo's best goal of evening with a well taken shot past Lee Brown to make it 4 - 3.
