Legal Head 0 vs Mes Amis 7

Mes Amis: Goals: Jim Rowland 2, Henry Turner 2, Simon Galvin 3
Assists: Simon Galvin, Ashley Bell, Henry Turner, Jim Rowland, David Yip

Defenders: Nick Classick, Nick Forsey, Mark Norman, Nick Smith, David Yip, Nik Slingsby.

As the scoreline suggests this match was pretty much a one-sided affair. Legal Head didn't show up in more ways than one; they started the match with 8 players.

This gave Mes Amis a chance to experiment with a 3-4-3 line up. 5 minutes into the game the Legals had 10 players on the pitch, this forced Mes back to a 4-4-2 formation giving Mes their first chance of the season to have a look at their 'preferred striking partnership' of Turner & Yip. Haha!!!

Early Mes pressure forces a corner. Debutant Simon Galvin crosses into the penalty box; no-one reacts apart from Jim Rowland. Rowland swoops down and nods the ball into the net. 1 - 0.

Rowland releases Turner; Turner one-on-one with the Keeper. 2 - 0.

It's 2 - 0 at the break and orders are issued to SCORE MORE GOALS in the 2nd half. The 2nd half then. Galvin picks up a loose ball and makes for the byline and whips it in; Rowland is there to tap in his 2nd of the game. 3 - 0.

Legal Head now pressing to get at least one goal. They try to build from the back alas their defender runs into Turner; he tries to turn out of trouble but runs into Yip. Yip tackles and stabs the ball into the path of Galvin; Galvin runs 20 metres and drives in low under the keeper. 4 - 0.

Cue almighty shuffle of the Mes team. With many of the key Mes players out of this game, it gave many of the squad a chance to stake their claim for a starting spot. The problem position for Mes this season has been the left-back slot. Welcome Nick "No.3" Classick - we salute you. A meandering Centre Forward by trade, Classick made the left back slot his own on Saturday with a flawless Justin Edinburgh-esque display. Commanding in the air, elegant in possession; Classick has ar last found his rightful home. With this Yip went back to the position he was suppose to start the day - Goalkeeper. This then gave the chance for Ashley Bell to roam forward, give Nick Forsey a run out in defence and a chance for both Mark Norman and Nick Smith to try their luck in attack.

Galvin now comes into his own as the afternoon wears on. Another break from midfield sees Turner sprint through on goal; he squares - yes really - to Galvin who gets his 2nd of the afternoon. 5 - 0.

Legals are caught in possession again and Bell releases Galvin down the right. Galvin seizes his hat-trick opportunity with a nicely placed shot under the keeper. 6 - 0.

It was 7 - 0 with 5 minutes to go thanks to Bell again who this time releases Turner for his 2nd of the game. MOM for Mes - Debutant Simon Galvin.
